Every family at Grant Elementary will receive 1 copy of the book, Charlotte's Web. Please use the Reading Calendar link to follow along each night and join our entire school as we take a trip to Zuckerman's Farm to learn about the exciting adventures of friendship between a pig and a spider!
Summary E.B.White's Charlotte’s Web is a widely read children’s story first published in 1952. It tells the story of a friendship between a farmyard pig named Wilbur and a grey spider named Charlotte. Wilbur is a spring pig, and he is distressed to learn that he is being fattened for slaughter in the fall. Charlotte resolves to save Wilbur. Through the friendship between Charlotte and Wilbur, White explores themes of death, loyalty, and friendship. Published in 1952, E.B. White's Charlotte's Web is a work of fantasy. This children's book was awarded the Massachusetts Children's Book Award 1984, Newbery Honor Book 1953, Laura Ingalls Wilder Medal 1970, and Horn Book Fanfare.
